Mara Leveritt stoops to a new low today trying, once again, to falsely accuse an innocent family member of the West Memphis victims of murder. In her continued effort to sell books to profit off the West Memphis murders, she posted on her blog and on Facebook today a long-debunked theory put forth by a Tennessee dentist who is obsessed with accusing family members of the WM3 victims of murdering their own step children. You can read her post and chime in to the discussion here: https://m.facebook/story.php?story_fbid=378111929006359&id=104555053028716 Today, she posted the Bite Mark Theory of Mark Cowart (known online by the name Paid). In this theory, Cowart tries to prove that a pair of partial dentures allegedly belonging to step-father Terry Hobbs caused an injury on Stevie Banchs forehead. Dr. Harry H. Mincer testified at Echols Rule 37 hearing in 1999 that the wound on Stevie Branchs forehead was NOT a bite mark. Mincer is one of the nations top forensic odontologists (dentists). He is a former president of the American Board of Forensic Odontology. Hes been a dentist since 1955, and has practiced forensic odontology since 1966. His analysis backs up the original analysis of the experts in Arkansas who actually viewed the bodies and determined there were no bite marks. Lesser qualified defense experts disagreed at the Rule 37 hearing, but they were shopped around for and hired by the WM3 defense team. Leveritt fails to mention that Mark Cowart has NO experience in forensic odontology and, in fact, is the author of an even wilder theory called the Man Hole Theory. In that long-ago debunked theory, Cowart has Terry Hobbs murdering the boys, dumping their bodies in a man hole, later moving the bodies to the ditch in the middle of a time when Hobbs and others were out searching for the boys, and animals causing bite marks on the boys. By promoting Cowarts ridiculous and unsubstantiated theories, Leveritt proves once again today what she is all about -- continuing to falsely accuse innocent people in this case so she can continue to make a buck off the deaths of three little boys. Her first book blamed step-father Byers. Her second book and ridiculous recent posts like the one today blame step-father Hobbs. Will her 3rd book blame biological father Todd Moore? Shes running out of parents to blame. If you read the comments in her Facebook post you will see that few people are buying into her crazy theories. In her reply she says This case is full of theories, as most of you know. And I dont espouse any of them. Going to have to call BS on that since she just used an entire blog to espouse the Bite Mark Theory. Does she really believe we are all that stupid? She goes on to say My focus is NOT on solving the murders, but on getting state officials to own up to the mess theyve made of this case. Again, thats pure BS on her part and she knows it. Her pet murderers PLED GUILTY instead of taking all this new evidence to court. She keeps calling for prosecutors, the crime lab, and others to do something when she knows full-well it is now solely up to the WM3 to present any new evidence that points to their innocence. Theyve been out of jail for three years now and have failed to present the prosecutor with one scrap of credible evidence that proves someone else did this crime. If the WM3 wanted to be exonerated or sue the state, they should have gone forward with a hearing for a new trial granted to them by the AR Supreme Court in 2011. Instead, their all-star attorneys worked out a deal where they could plead guilty, but walk out of jail. Innocent people do not plead guilty and turn down the chance to sue for millions of dollars for wrongful conviction. It simply does not happen. Mara knows full well the WM3 threw away their chance at exoneration by pleading guilty, yet posts propaganda like this anyway in order to rile people up, sell more books, and make more blood money at the expense of three dead children: https://m.facebook/story.php?story_fbid=378227122328173&id=104555053028716 We here at WM3 Facts believe the most likely cause of the wound above Stevies eye is not a bite mark, but a wound from the butt end of a knife found in the lake just feet from Jason Baldwins trailer. Its no coincidence that Mara and co-author Baldwin would want to deflect attention from that theory. You can read it here: THE LAKE KNIFE A knife was found submerged blade down in the pond directly behind Jason Baldwins home. Damiens ex-girlfriend, Deanna Holcomb, testified that the knife was similar to a knife that belonged to Damien. She said Damiens knife was unique because it had a compass on the end. During the trial, a knife distributor testified that the lake knife had a missing compass. callahan.8k/wm3/ebtrial/dholcomb.html callahan.8k/wm3/ebtrial/jparker.html Several years ago, a veteran West Memphis Three case researcher named Shaun Wheeler revisited what had been described as a human bite mark on Stevie Branch’s forehead. Wheeler had two forensic odontologists (dentists) compare the wound to the missing compass slot on the handle of the lake knife. According to Wheeler, forensic odontologists Homer Campbell and Peter Loomis are experts in both tool mark and bite mark identification. Campbell and Loomis both report that the round slot where the compass had been matched the wound on Branchs forehead. These are transcriptions of emails Wheeler says were sent to him by Campbell and Loomis. I believe the injuries to the left forehead and upper lid of the left eye were produced by the knife recovered or one similar. I also sent the photos of the injuries and the knife to another for evaluation and he agrees. Have fun with this and thank you for sending it to me. -Homer Campbell Bingo. The circular mark sure looks like the butt of the survival knife. The measurements fit. The diameter of the injury is 30mm, and the diameter of the prominent circular area of the butt of the knife is 29.8mm. The 3 lacerations under the eyebrow look like they were made by the serrations on the back side of the knife. The measurements also fit here. The lacerations measure 11.2mm between them, and the serrated points on the knife vary between 11.1 and 11.4 mm. Of course the photo with the wooden ruler is blurry depicting these serrations but I can still measure them. -Peter Loomis Also worth noting, the lake knifes missing compass many have had a metal pin. Some have speculated the metal pin could have caused the x-mark injury in the center of Stevies forehead. This is what the missing compass on the lake knife is believed to have looked like. Note the metal pin in the middle: thewm3revelations.files.wordpress/2013/03/knives-survival-knife-with-compass-black-hk-8838b-c.jpg This video illustrates how the lake knife could have caused the wound on Stevies forehead: m.youtube/watch?v=4zgf1Epw3TM An extremely in-depth discussion on this topic with additional pictures of the lake knife compared to the injuries can be found here: thewm3revelations.wordpress/tag/west-memphis-three-murder-damien-echols-jessie-misske/
