Marceille Stansberry, 100, died early Tuesday, May 13, 2014, at Pioneer Manor in Hugoton, KS. She was born March 21, 1914, at Oxford, KS, the daughter of Charles and Mary Lowrey. She married John Wesley JW Stansberry on Dec. 22, 1934, at Wichita, KS. He preceded her in death on Feb. 2, 2004. Marceille attended Oxford High School in Oxford, KS, where she was active in choir and basketball. She managed the Ranch Motel in Liberal for 14 years before retiring in 1977. She enjoyed sewing, traveling, gardening, crossword puzzles, playing cards, her grandchildren and spending time in Colorado. She was a member of Liberal Trail Riders, 4H Leader for the Eager Beaver 4H Club of Liberal. Marceille was also recognized by the Liberal Chamber of Commerce in 2013 as a resident of Liberal for 70 years. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Liberal. Her survivors include one son - Bruce Stansberry and wife Dixie of Freedom, OK; two daughters - Nedra Arnett and husband Kevin of Liberal, KS; Shona Blakeley and husband Kim of Turpin, OK; 10 grandchildren; 24 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by one daughter - Nada Jo Stoops; one grandson - John Wayne Dulaney; one great great grandson - Jaxxon Arnett and two sisters. Visitation will be Friday, May 16, 2014, from 12:00 pm-8:00 pm at Miller Mortuary with the family present to receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday May, 17, at the First Baptist Church of Liberal with Pastor David Bagwell officiating.
