Marcelo: Being one of Real Madrid’s captains is more than an honour, it is a tremendous responsibility Marcelo: Being here is a dream, I have been at this club for seven years and, of course, I want to be here for much longer. Marcelo: I am just thinking about my treatment and recovery. Im dying to get back to playing and helping the team. I have my mind set on recovering and getting back to giving the fans something to cheer. Marcelo, who has been at the club for seven years, considers it a privilege to wear the captains armband: When I arrived here it didn’t occur to me what I had achieved. You think about what you want to succeed at in your life, to win everything. Now, being one of Real Madrid’s captains is more than an honour, it is a tremendous responsibility and a lot of people and many children watch what we do and that is a great responsibility. Marcelo: Whenever we start a season we want to win everything that we are playing for and be very positive. Of course, we believe that this season will be a very good one. Marcelo thinks that the six Real Madrid players that are taking part in the World Cup qualification playoffs will benefit from the team’s great form and will take that on to the field for their countries: We are doing well and that will help them to play well and to earn qualification for the World Cup. Marcelo about his best moments: There are many memories, I came here when I was very young, at 18, and everyone welcomed me like one of the family. Real Madrid have been great towards me and my family. I have to thank everyone who has supported me from the beginning. Being here is a dream and I always remember the good things. I have managed to be with Real Madrid for seven years and, of course, I want to be here for a lot longer.
