March 13th Forward Day by Day Devotional Reading 1 Corinthians 3:9 For we are Gods servants, working together; you are Gods field, Gods building. Every day people wake up, go to work and then head home. The pattern repeats continually. Some people call the pattern a treadmill. People keep working and working, but they never see the end product or the purpose. But every now and then, exceptional people break from this mold and choose a different course. Often these people are great innovators and leaders. They know what they want to change, or they can imagine how they want things to be and they work toward it. They live with purpose. They see themselves working toward that purpose. Paul writes that our purpose is to be Gods servants, building Gods kingdom within us and around us. We are not on a treadmill. Instead, we are daily adding a layer of foundation. We are building each day toward that kingdom. Our lives have purpose, and we are connected to each other in this work. We ourselves are Gods field, Gods building - the place where Gods work is being done. Someone else is helping us on our spiritual journey and we will help someone else with his or her spiritual journey. We are in this work together.
