Marilyn Shelley Trubey - We lost our first australian shepherd to rectal cancer on 1/3/2012, 4 months after being diagnosed. Nine months later we lost another Aussie, who had a chronic infection in his spine and a heart problem, but they believe he died from cancer. He was 10 1/2. The first was not yet 10. Now our third Aussie also has rectal cancer. He is 8 yrs old. Rectal cancer is pretty rare so how did I end up with 2 unrelated Aussies with this type of cancer? I have Lyme disease and the treatment is very expensive so cannot afford the surgery which could leave him incontinent. So I decided to try a holistic vet. Shes put him on some kind of healing mushroom powder another herb and a Chinese herb to stop the bleeding. Weve decided to try ozone therapy once a week for a month to see if it helps. Cancer cannot grow with oxygen. Hoping the treatments will shrink the polyp. Has anyone else used a holistic vet? What are your thoughts about this treatment? So far the cancer has not invaded the lymph nodes and is contained.
