Mark 10:50-52 He threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus. Then Jesus said to him, “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied, “Rabbi, let me see again.” Jesus said to him, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Immediately he regained his sight and followed him on the road. Bartimaeus, who was challenged to call out to Jesus more than one time to receive a call, jumps up and comes to Jesus. Bartimaeus pressed through to an audience with Jesus. Jesus asks Bartimaeus a question that He already knows the answer to. Why do you think Jesus does this? Could Bartimaeus have asked for gold or riches here, for anything his heart desired? Would Jesus have given him whatever he asked for? Bartimaeus, a man who up until now was begging in the streets of Jericho, is transformed by his encounter with Jesus. Christ leads him from that place, and he follows.
