Mark went out of town this weekend to go turkey hunting. (As of this posting, he got one double bearded turkey.) So I am experiencing what life will be like the fall of next year with no children at home. It feels very strange. Fortunately, I had a birthday party to go to. My neighbor turned 90. I learned some very interesting stories about him and Elvis Presley and Willie Nelson. Then I visited with a couple of college friends. Finally, i went to the high school to watch one act play because a former student invited me when we unexpectedly ran into each other. What a treat! One of my favorite things about teaching is running into former students and seeing how theyve grown and what direction they go. Even after years have passed, they still make me smile.
