Marketing Database Manager Job (New York, NY, USA): Job Requisition Number:40669 The Role: Marketing Operations seeks a Marketing Database Manager with solid knowledge of Marketing analytics and Data Warehouse Best Practices. The individual will be responsible for determining the data needs, data usage techniques and procedures for the marketing team and greater organization. The candidate will define the steps required to meet business needs using data and technology and ensuring that those steps are tracked and met, including identification of business requirements and the transformation of those requirements into live database solutions. In addition, the ideal candidate will have excellent analytical and problem solving skills, highly motivated, quick learner with strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. The candidate will be involved in creation of all phases of projects related to the Data Warehouse. The Responsibilities: -Interface between R&D and the business to define the structure, access and use of data and database solutions for business needs -Provide domain expertise for formal data warehouse design and integration with BI systems -Maintain data feed documentation -Maintain comprehensive data dictionaries including definition, sources and update schedules -Develop business requirement documents (BRDs) and use cases for projects -Project-manage the creation and implementation of database solutions -Drive automation of production tasks -Identify commonalities among ad hoc data requests to integrate external data sets -Be go-to expert on how to navigate projects that rely on R&D resources beyond database marketing. -Collaborate across Marketing in working towards a unified data model and applications to address those requirements. -Ensure adherence to adopted data governance standards and policies as well as legal compliance including customer privacy rules, business ownership rules, audience-based and test and learn design applications -Establish policies for data access that include defining accepted measures for business needs -Partner with R&D to manage data audits and agree upon automated methods for data capture and storage The Qualifications: -7-10 or more years database marketing/marketing operations experience and a record of superior professional accomplishment for a leading, well-branded organization that has a significant business to business and business to consumer focus -Specific experience in the media industry, financial services sector or subscription-based services is highly desirable; user experience preferred -Extensive experience with marketing/campaign datamarts -Experience in an international environment is highly desirable -Track record of success in working in and influencing a fast-paced, fast-growing global organization -Proven ability to manage outside vendors -Broad experience in data quality and data processing -Strong foundation in application of campaign management and marketing operations tools (e.g., Aprimo, Exact Target) and analytic software (e.g., SAS, SAS BI, SPSS) -Knowledge of data warehousing and management processes -Influencing skills -Strong relationship management skills -Strong verbal and written communications skills The Company: Bloomberg, the global business and financial information and news leader, gives influential decision makers a critical edge by connecting them to a dynamic network of information, people and ideas.
