Marketing Lead Position About Us: Access Afya is a social enterprise based in Nairobi, Kenya that targets Kenyan consumers in informal settlements with low cost, high quality, basic but critical health care services via micro-clinics. Our vision is to create a sustainable, scalable model for delivering critical health care services to underserved populations and to expand throughout Kenya and beyond. This vision is possible through standardization, rigorous business processes, a comprehensive IT system, community marketing, and planning for scale. Background: Access Afya Kenya started operations in December 2012 with one micro-clinic in the Mukuru slums of Nairobi. The pilot has gained the organization international recognition and awards, grant funding to expand the model to three additional sites, and most importantly sold health services to over 1,500 clients in Nairobi’s slums. The number of clients will grow to over 10,000 next year as the micro-clinic model expands. About the position: We are recruiting a Marketing Lead to work with our growing organization. The Marketing Lead will be responsible for implementing marketing plans designed to meet growth targets and increase awareness of the Access Afya Clinics and programs. The Marketing Lead will also be responsible for marketing event planning, coordination and execution; marketing geared web development and overall developing and disseminating marketing materials targeting Access Afya clientele including door to door marketing. This individual must be able to exercise excellent judgment in potentially sensitive interactions with patients, media and other internal and external audiences. Must be capable of acting independently to complete complex projects with minimal supervision and within deadlines. This position requires critical thinking skills and ability to execute multi-layered projects with minimal oversight. In addition to being responsible for Access Afya marketing initiatives, this position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling Access Afyas mission and vision hence expected to demonstrate behavior consistent with Access Afyas values. The employee shall support the overall strategic plans, goals and direction of the quality improvement/process improvement activities. Education: Bachelors Degree in Marketing Experience: • Three to five years of experience in Marketing, business development and project management • Previous experience working with traditional and non-traditional media outlets • Previous experience with launching new lines of business • Experience with Microsoft office suite, Desktop publishing/graphics • Photoshop capabilities and Web experience is required Skills: • Demonstrated ability to define marketing strategy and develop comprehensive plans to strategically and financially position a Access Afya in the marketplace • Brave, tactful and energetic with ability to maintain professionalism at all times • Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills • Effective interpersonal skills with ability to maintain confidentiality • Ability to adapt to multiple and changing priorities • Knowledge of brand management is a plus How to apply: Applications are being accepted on a rolling basis.
