Marley needs a foster! We met Marley in the East Valley medical - TopicsExpress

Marley needs a foster! We met Marley in the East Valley medical isolation room and were so touched by her heart and spirit. She is just a baby..pletely blind...and was cowering into her blankets for some slight comfort. Being a blind baby dog in the rough, loud, horrific shelter environment is beyond traumatic. We got her out as soon as we could. We are learning that Marley is a very special dog who needs an experienced, patient new mom or dad. Poor little Marley weighs only 7 lbs, is only 7 months old and as mentioned...she is blind. She is also severely malnourished and terrified of pretty much everything. Currently she shakes much of the time and stays in her crate, only to come out to go potty or eat. She is traumatized even when gently touched. She needs a quiet, low-stimulus environment in which to gain confidence and learn new skills. So, obviously, no children in the home. You may be surprised at the extent to which a severely disabled dog such as Marley can become independent and live a fun, engaging life. But it takes time and effort and knowledge. There is a lot of information out there about how to help a blind dog like Marley...and of course the DWB staff would help you every step of the way. She needs to not just be the family dog, she needs to be your special love project. If you are willing and able to devote the time to help Marley live the life she deserves and if you have some experience with traumatized dogs, we would love to hear from you. If you are not the right person for Marley but you know someone who might be – please network. Someone dumped this poor baby to starve and die on the streets, blind, terrified, and alone. Please help us find her the life she deserves. Contact [email protected] for information. Please please network this girl. LA Area please.
