Martha(not real name) is a gal I met in High Sch.She was one class below me.She looked to be a happy one,with the looks of Im from a great home not like some of us whose story is terribly different.2yrs later,i changed school and never saw her again(afterall we were not tights). Recently,I found her in a dilapidated single-roomed house in one of Mbararas slums.She looked so pale and worn out.I chose to sit and listen to her story.Her mom separated with the dad around that time I had just known her and she has a step-mom who constantly bewitched and tortured her that she was forced to leave her fathers house.The dad stopped paying her school towards the end of S.3. She packed a kavera with her only two dresses and hit the road.she got a lift from Bushenyi to mbarara to find any job and earn a living on her own. It is then that she met Paul,a handsome young man that took her up as a friend. Before she knew it,she was moving in with him and she got pregnant and gave birth to a very beautiful baby gal-Precious. Now,life started changing again; Paul would get home late,beat her up and the baby,drink like a silly fish,et al. Today,Paul says he doesnt want her and the baby anymore,mbu hell wake up one day and kill them. She is confused; she doesnt have anywhere to go and needs my help.
