Martin 000-28 is a wonderful guitar. A vintage 000-28 is the basis for the Eric Clapton 000-28EC. Many Martin Guitar lovers would like a 000-28 with features like the Clapton model, but without the Clapton signature on the fingerboard, or perhaps without the dark aging toner that Martin uses to color the top. On my recent visit to the Martin Custom Shop I ordered two 000-28s and a 00-28 that will have features and cosmetic like the Clapton such as herringbone trim and abalone torch headstock inlay, which will make for some very classy and wonderful guitars. On one of the 000-28s I went all out and ordered it with torrefied Adirondack spruce and hide glue construction, which will make for a superlative guitar that will rival or exceed the vintage Martins that are so dearly cherished.
