Martin McGuinness, the Norths Deputy First Minister was in North - TopicsExpress

Martin McGuinness, the Norths Deputy First Minister was in North Westmeath and Mullingar today joining Matt Carthys Euro Blitz canvass through Westmeath. He had a fantastic reception in Mullingar, with people pulling over their cars in traffic to get out and shake his hand. It was lovely to be out with Martin and hear everyones support for Sinn Fein, for Matt, Sorca, Paul and myself. Martin has 750,000 twitter followers and following todays visit he tweeted about the limited edition Niall Horan Gars that he was given by Mullingar Chamber for his grand-daughters, who are Nialls biggest fans. Martin thought it was great to see how busy the town was and many people supported their local shops and businesses. Its always a swift affair these canvasses as Matt is trying to get to every town in his area. But poor Matt had to wait because Martin stepped through the door of OMalleys fishing tackle shop and found himself in heaven- not angels but anglers- Martin was also pleased to see a young man like Eamonn Brady in Whelehans investing in his business and working to grow business in the town centre. He also spoke to Niall in Apache Pizza- who was talking about the long hours that you need to put in to make a business a success- and Apache is a success, busiest in Ireland.
