Marxist historians and the myth of the Aryan invasion in India If after 20 years, someone changes your identity or even distorts it causing people around you to behave differently, you would be both devastated and enraged. Your fury will find no resolution and you cannot do anything to reclaim your original identity. No matter how deeply buried, the agony of losing your identity will continue to resurface and pinprick your conscience time and again. Now, what happens if it is a marginal group that distorts historical contexts and alters the identity of an entire civilization, and to such an extent that whole generations grow up with an inherited inferiority complex that can shake the foundations of a society? The Marxist historians happen to be one such fringe group in India. The theory of Aryan invasion, propagated by Marxist historians divided India giving it a North and South division. With the passage of time North Indians have been branded as “Aryans”, the invaders and South Indians as “Dravidians”, the original inhabitants of this land.
