Mary Helen Hayes Gilstrap Watson, 84, born in Pickens, SC departed this life for heaven on December 21, 2014. She was a resident of Capstone Health & Rehab. She was the daughter of the late Richard J. & Zoa Trotter Hayes. She was a nurse, for Dr. E. Gaine Cannon at his Pickens clinic & later Cannon Hospital & Dr. A. J. Reinovsky for many years. Before retirement, she was a nursing home CNA. She is survived by her son, Don Gilstrap of Seneca; daughters: Jo Ann G. Brewer of Easley & Kim W. Mote of Pickens; grandchildren: Kenny Gilstrap, Ted & Russ Brewer, Brian Caldwell & Jenny C. Cassell; 8 great-grandchilden; a sister, Louise H. Ellenburg (Rev. James E.); & special friend, Pat Martin. She was predeceased by her parents, a son, Rick Watson; brother & sister-in-law, Dean & Majorie Keith Hayes of Davenport, Fla.; brother-in-law, Rev. J. E. Ellenburg & her spouses, Jacob Gilstrap & Bill Watson. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church. A Memorial service will he held at her home church, Victory Baptist Church on Sat., Dec. 27 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation following & graveside service at a later date at Griffin Baptist Church, Pickens.
