Maryam(Mary) is mentioned in the Quran as the most honored woman of all the nations in these words: And (remember) when the angels said: O Maryam (Mary)! Verily, Allâh has chosen you, purified you (from polytheism and disbelief), and chosen you above the women of the Alamîn (mankind and jinn) (of her lifetime). (Aal `Imran 3:42) Maryam name is mentioned in Quran more than Eesa(Jesus peace be upon him). Maryam (the mother of Prophet Eesa) wasnt great just because she was the mother of Prophet; she was also great because she perfected her faith. She was a women ,who demonstrated modesty and devotion . Her mother was Hannah and father was Imran(peace be upon him). There is a whole chapter in the noble Quran titled Maryam, the nineteenth chapter of the Quran. The Quran honors Jesus(peace be upon him) as the worthy son of a worthy mother: Whenever Jesus(peace be upon him) is mentioned, he is named as Isa ibn Maryam meaning Jesus the Son of Mary.
