Massachusetts has a few state sanctioned Rocks, besides gems/minerals,the regular, also historical (Plymouth Rock ),and explorer (Dighton Rock ).Our reg state rock is Rocksbury Puddingstone, which is a conglomerate, meaning its made of many types of rocks, stones cemented in a fine matrix.kinda yawnworthy, huh ? I posted a pic of my house foundation so thats my collection.lol but a lot of amazing Boston architecture is made from it,everything from buildings and seating stones at Harvard,to some of the most amazing historical churches. If youve ever watched the Boston Marathon,it ends at the Old South Church, which is made from Puddingstone. Theres some amazing stories, history, pictures of it here. written-in-stone-seen-through-my-lens.blogspot/2011/03/architectural-geology-of-boston-roxbury_27.html?showComment=1413945300939&m=1#c5808383852042662599
