Massive Wagons - Fight The System Album Review Massive Wagons are a five piece hailing from Lancaster in the UK. The band started out playing in small pubs, in and around Lancaster, and are now one of the most talked about bands in the One To Watch Category. They are an established favourite at biker rallies and they have supported such bands as, Praying Mantis, Jettblack and Dave Evans. They have also performed on the main stage at Hard Rock Hell 6, where Metal Hammer awarded them 7/10 for their performance, and had a return slot at Hard Rock Hell 7. Massive Wagons have also had mainstage performances at Les-Fest and SOS festival. Also played at The Heart of Rock and Blues Festival in Builth Wells this year and with an appearance coming up at Bloodstock in August on the Jägermeister stage. So, these guys are definitely making waves!. Massive Wagons is :- Baz Mills on Vocals, Adam Thistlethwaite / Lead Guitar, Carl Cochrane / Rhythm Guitar, Bowz Bouskill / Bass, and, Alex Thistlethwaite / Drums. Their debut album, Fire It Up, was released in 2012 to critical acclaim, and now with the launch of Fight The System imminent for digital release on July 14th, and physically through all major retailers on August 4th by Off Yer Rocka Recordings, we take a look at what this bad boy has to offer. Dirty Little Secrets - With a punchy guitar riff, this song comes flying at you with a relentless pace and full on rock and roll intensity. If this doesnt get you up throwing some shapes then somebody must have glued you to the floor!. Fast, glorious and screaming at you like the best rock and roll should. SWT - Reminiscent of The Rolling Stones meets Thunder in tone and style, this track is a classic feel good foot tapper. One youll want to swing your pint too and throw your mates around. Time for a knees up people. One For Me - Groovy bass lines and guitar licks come at you hypnotically before it gets its grungy swagger on. Down and dirty with a glorious guitar break at the bridge. Fight The System - Slide guitar and a rhythmic beat on the tom toms fires you up with this anthemic fist pumper. Taking it to the man with attitude and defiance!. One to put fire in your belly and get you stomping around like a teenager with a grievance. Lets Fight! Look Around - A gorgeous power ballad of reflection and optimism. Rhythmic acoustics and a heavy guitar flow through this track rising to an empowering guitar flourish at the bridge. Sublime in its beauty and simplicity, this will carry you away. Rising Tides - This comes at you like someones house is on fire and you need to phone the fire brigade!. Full on stomping intensity thatll get you moshing and windmilling like your heads gone gravity free. Think AC/DC cranked up to 13, this is rock at its best!. Hard, fast and relentless!. Hell yeah! Red Dress - With a Rolling Stones / Van Halen tone to this track, this rocks in its simplicity like a classic 80s track. The guitar crescendo at the bridge sealing this nostalgic track. Black Witch - Rhythmic licks and a deep bass line bring in the narrative vocals before the thunderous intensity emerges, relenting periodically to let a brooding swagger take over. Classic rock riffs and drums with a reminiscence to Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin in its core. Truth - A roll around the drums and a swing beat introduces this track, accompanied by rhythmic guitars, before it changes pace and starts banging its fists with attitude and angst. The chanting chorus raising the masses into a battle cry while the guitar bridge lights the touch paper. Roll With The Rhythm - A feel good ballad with vocals and acoustic guitar carrying this forward to welcome the drums and heavy guitars in to empower the guitar solo at the bridge. One of those tracks to cruise down the road with and a classic end of set track to close a gig. Alive - With a moody tone to the rhythm section, the guitars come in with a low end growl. The vocals firing up the attitude while the grinding guitars flex their muscles. This is heavy, brooding and taking you down!. The awesome guitar work at the bridge putting Zakk Wylde in his place. Now this is rock!. Massive Wagons have produced an album here that will knock your Docs off!. Its raw, its punchy and it has that solid rock core that ignites any headbanger. Nostalgic in its tones, taking influence from the days of The Rolling Stones to the 80s style of Van Halen before coming right up to date with tones of Black Label Society. This album will satisfy any rocker!. So, its no surprise that Massive Wagons are getting the resounding success they deserve. For those that like AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Thunder, Saxon, Black Label Society and rock in general, you need to check these guys out, crank it up and blow your roof off!
