Match Report 30-9-14 Venue TDS stadium The following views are my own and not that of TNF EVANS HOLDS SURE Evans and his boys storm to victory Devaneys Diamonds - 14 Stones Stallions - 7 Diamonds James Lewis Luke Lane Stephen Daccus Jonny Devaney Nathan Evans Neil Cresswell Stallions Steve Stone Ben Smith Mathew Hyde Lee Street Richard Arnold Craig Ewan A wiseman once said tuesday night football is not a matter of life or death, its much more important than that! Those sentiments where clearly echoed in this weeks game as we witnessed one of the most fiercly competed games so far, the two teams spent most of the game like a nuns legs... Hard to seprrate. Two well organised teams took a while to break the deadlock, eventually Lewis poked a ball through to Daccus who finished cooly, the Diamonds 1 up! The Stallions soon hit back a thunder bolt from Arnold levelled matters. Cresswell did his best to keep the stallions at bay less the invisible man more superman as time and again he kept them with out out mircales, the diamonds where also helped by the much of Ewan and Stones shooting mirroring many of Smiths dates..wide! Eventually the diamonds got a strangle hold in the game and where able to build up a healthy lead Daccus, Devaney and Laney or little, large and larger as I prefer (make ur own minds up) finally got there shooting boots on and DD had to much of a lead to overturn despite Streets Stones and Arnolds best efforts! The game, as is now seemingly tradition, had its moments of controversy, Evans sent Smith spralling. Stone reaked his teams revenge though by later flooring Evans who seemed less than impressed! Nothing though compared to the real controvery of the night, the goal line technology row will now surely erupt again as there where shades of England v Germany world cup 2010 as Lewiss left shot was tipped onto post and bar by Street and out, the female Evans appeared to flag for a goal but the argument raged on and on! There was good news for some as Chairman Sepp Lane and assistant to the chairman Michel Lewis relaxed the rules on shirt colours. Player Ratings Devaneys Diamonds Luke Lane... 8/10 At times does it all on his own, infact most of the time, I mean does he ever pass lol great performance led the team brilliantly The ginger viking... 8/10 Up and down the pitch brilliantly helped the defence and created and scored goals Jonny Devaney... 7.5/10 Returned after and a couple of weeks away, looked like hed never been away fine return Neil Cresswell... 9/10 Great dispaly kept his team in it with some astonishing goalkeeping Nathan Evans... 8/10 Slow start but grew brilliantly into the game to have a strong game, clearly distracted by the blonde in the crowd towards the end Stones Stallions Steve Stone... 7/10 Works as hard as anyone, constant threat up front, finishing a little off Richard Arnold... 9/10 STAR MAN Star man again, led his team brilliantly unlucky to be on the loosing team Ben Smith... 7/10 Linked up well with Stone upfront, denied by some brilliant goalkeeping Matt Hyde... 7/10 Another fully committed performance runs the midfield with great tackling Craig Ewan... 7/10 Great work down the left side, joined stone in the disapointing finishing category Lee Steet... 8/10 Impressive debut, worked hard and hreat plenty of chances As Luke is doing the awards for games so far i.thought id do my own alternative awards The award for worst time keeping...
