Match report. DH vs. HF sports Adders A sunny but windy day for our preliminary league cup home game today. Our opponents for this cup game are in the league above us and showed us why. Despite fielding a reduced team they pushed us for the whole hour. From the kick off we dominated. The midfield were easily winning the ball, but a lack of communication and the Adders tight defence kept us at bay. Conrad frequently beat the last man, with only some poor finishing or superb defence keeping the speedy forward from scoring. At half time it was 0-0. The second half saw us continue our dominance and following a poor clearance in the Adders box, Jack was on hand to poke in our first of the day. 1-0. Now our midfield had settled with Jack running tirelessly and chasing every loose ball. The next goal was again a superb piece of football. Edem picked the ball up on the left and ran forward. Just as we though he had wasted his great run, he shot past the goalkeeper. 2-0. The Adders refused to let their heads drop and were soon on the score sheet. A rare lapse in concentration between Fred and James allowed them to poke past Ore. 2-1. Now both teams picked up their pace. With the game coming to a close the Hamlets showed there extra strength with Carter moving into an attacking ball to score our third. 3-1 at the finish. Well done boys. This was a hard game where the score flatters us somewhat but we battled hard against a very good team. Our player of the match is Jack. His work rate and attitude today was superb. Come on Hamlets!
