Mathematic intelligence is a metacognitive process that enhances learning and knowledge representation. Metacognition is the ability to understand and control our cognition. This shows an ability to enhancing our thinking and metamemory. The parallel distributed processing (PDP) handles large numbers of cognitive operations across numerical centers in the cerebrum (Stenberg, 2009). Higher cognitive mechanism and function in the cerebrum is active in the frontal lobe. This area of the neocortex is associated with motor control, higher order though, problem solving, abstract reasoning, judgment, and perspective (Stenberg, 2009). Ph.D. candidate in Cognitive Psychology. Concentration Neuroscience. Walden School of Behavioral and Social Sciences.
