Matt Kever... Ive thought all day about you. I started a band with you, Joseph Flava Sirk and Michael Bridges in 2001. You said, Hey, I know this guy that can sing. So you introduced us to Patrick T. Luce. Pat brought in David Ramthun on sax. You sat in front of your drums as I looked on the internet next to you for violin players, and we stumbled upon Dean Williams. We played music every week. We dug several tons of dirt out of John Gillespies crawl space so he would produce our album. Many of those days, it would be just you and me handing buckets of dirt to each other, talking about music. You always brought a bottle of Mountain Dew to rehearsal. You always showed up at the last minute for every gig. And you always managed to make us laugh with some bizarre off the wall comment youd make at the most inopportune moment. You were a great guy Matt. You loved playing music, and I genuinely enjoyed making that music with you. We were young and stupid, but I think we made a great album together. Im really proud of that. I hope youre jamming up there, and maybe you finally figured out what we were doing wrong on #34. Rest in peace brother.
