Matt Rudkin WSBT: Snow winding down for most locations, although a lake snow band in northern Berrien, Cass and St Joseph MI counties is putting down some heavy snow. Big story today for everyone will be blowing & drifting. Well continue to see 4+ snow drifts around the area. Temperatures are in the upper 20s as of this post. Well be in the single digits by dinner time tonight. Another 2-4 of snow likely tomorrow, then the REAL cold air comes in for next week. Lows will be double digits below zero Mon and Tue night, with wind chill values -40°. I fully expect many school corporations to cancel parts of next week. The difference between this cold snap and the one we saw in early Jan is that we are NOT expecting 15 of snow right before it hits. HOWEVER, we will have to continue dealing with the blowing & drifting, which will cause headaches on all roadways in the days to come. FYI: I continue to see a consensus in a pattern change for mid-Feb. This would bring warmer temperatures (at or above normal) and less active weather to our region. Thats about 2 weeks away still. Also, for those of you counting down, T-Minus 53 days until spring. :)
