Matthew 14 23 sent the multitudes, went up into a mountain apart to pray: When evening came, he was there alone. Prayer is the means by which we approach the presence of God and we can have fellowship with Him. The Bible commands us to pray often. We are told that prayer should be part of the Christian life. God wants His children to seek him in prayer. A very effective way to pray is the prayer group. On several occasions examples of people who prayed together as a group are presented. A perfect example is the day of Pentecost, when they were all with one accord in prayer. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren. (Acts 1:14) After this, the disciples were accustomed to pray together. In the second chapter of Acts we read, Then they that gladly received his word were baptized; and there were added that day about three thousand people. 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles teaching, in fellowship, in the breaking of bread and the prayers (Acts 2: 41-42.) Surely prayer group is very beneficial to believers and God does great things for his people when praying in a group. Sometimes, there is also the need to pray together with another partner who agrees to one to ask God. Jesus said, Again I say unto you, that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done by my Father in heaven (Matthew 18:19.) Like congregational or group prayer, prayer in Christian fellowship with two or three brothers, is of great importance in the lives of believers. Prayer with a partner in faith gives a sense of strength, brotherhood and Christian fellowship may not be large building to the spiritual life. Although often participate in group prayers, and perhaps sometimes in agreement with another company or person, we tend to neglect the call to be alone with God in prayer. But it is very necessary to pray alone. Believers Jesus prayed alone Past Jesus used to get away from the crowd to be alone. After being baptized, Jesus went alone into the wilderness. He spent time in communion with God. When the Jews wanted to become king, against the divine plan, Jesus left them to a mountain where he was alone with God. Men like Job, Elijah, David, Daniel prayed alone. Spent time alone with God in prayer. Women like Hannah the mother of Samuel, we are told that he went alone into the temple to pray to God. These examples should not be overlooked or ignored. Examples of great importance which we should take as a pattern in our lives, but most importantly prayer alone with God is not only the example of these men and women of God, but that Christ commanded us to pray alone . Jesus said we should pray alone Prayer alone is important in the lives of those who seek God. And God is looking for people who are willing to seek not only in public but also accompanied or alone .... In the Sermon on the Mount Jesus said, 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6: 6.) Those words of Jesus, more than a recommendation or advice is an important commandment. Sometimes we are very willing to pray in public group and congregational form, we have no problem with another Christian prayer asking us for such a thing, but prayer alone we find it very difficult. ? Why is that? I believe that prayer alone is the most important of all prayers a Christian can do. The moments alone with God have a big impact on the lives of believers. There are certain things that make the pray alone an act of special importance. We will briefly list some of these benefits. Importance of Praying alone ... It is an indication of humility: Prayer alone is indicative of humility. When we pray only God alone can see us, no one can see or hear what we ordered. In contrast to the arrogant and proud who liked to pray in public to be seen of men, Jesus gave us to understand that those who pray in secret alone with God are humble in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Humility does no one needed to know, going to his knees to God and pour out our hearts before Him. Everyone prays in public, even sinners, but secretly, only the humble pray.
