Matthew 16:14-17 ~ 1599 Geneva Bible (GNV) 14 And they said, Some say, [a]John Baptist: and some, Elijah: and others, Jeremiah, or one of the Prophets. 15 He said unto them, But whom say ye that I am? 16 Then Simon Peter answered, and said, Thou art that Christ, the son of the living God. 17 [b]And Jesus answered, and said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon, the son of Jonah: for [c]flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. Footnotes: a. Matthew 16:14 As Herod thought. b. Matthew 16:17 Faith is of grace, not of nature. c.
