Matthew 21:18-19 As he was returning to the city in the morning, - TopicsExpress

Matthew 21:18-19 As he was returning to the city in the morning, he felt hungry. Seeing a fig tree on the road, he went up to it and found nothing on it but leaves. And he said to it, May you never bear fruit again and in that instant the fig tree withered. Jesus could have just as easily, commanded the tree to bear fruit. The figs would have grown and his hunger satisfied. Yet instead he chose to curse the tree so that it withered. The passage goes on to talk about faith. Jesus told his disciples if they had faith, with no doubt, they too, could make a fig tree wither and not only that, they could also move mountains. Jesus in verse 22, And if you have faith, everything you ask for in prayer, you will receive. When we pray, are we truly praying in faith? Or does a trace of doubt still linger? Have you ever prayed for something and it not happen? I can raise my hand many times to that. I dont understand why people have to suffer in death. I pray that God would take them, and it doesnt happen. I pray that God would heal them, it doesnt happen. I dont understand all that life here is about right now, and I may have doubt in a lot of my prayers, but there is no doubt, that my hope continues to be in him, and one day, I will understand...... Father today, we pray that you would help us to get rid of all doubt when we pray. Help us to have total faith in the little things as we watch our faith grow. And may WE continually bear fruit. Bless each one as we fix our eyes on you. In Jesus name....
