Matthew had been telling me for the past several weeks he does not want to do anything on Halloween. He has always been very afraid of Halloween. Though, at the last moment, Matthew decided he wanted to be Spiderman for Halloween. It was a very difficult day, as we had many things to do, to find a costume for Mathew as he is a very large boy. Finally, today we found a costumer at Halloween City. When we went inside I prepared Matthew as, one, the store was going to have a lot, a lot of people inside, and, two, there would be many scary costume and props around the store. Matthew told me not to worry as he was just going to look for one thing, his costumer. As soon as we came inside Matthew went straight to one of the workers and asked them where the Spiderman costumes were for boys. The young boy who worked there brought Matthew right back to the aisle with the Marvel hero costumes. Matthew, daddy, and I picked up the costume and went to get into line to check out. But there was a big problem; the checkout line had about 50 people in it. I told Matthew, there were too many people, so he would go wait in the car with daddy, eat his hamburgers, and chat with me on the telephone. Matthew was very, very over stimulated so he told me, “No problem, Mommy, I will go wait in the car, but do not take too long.” After I got back to the car it was raining but the sun was setting and there was a very big rainbow. Matthew wanted a picture with the rainbow. So I took several pictures of Matthew and the rainbow. As Matthew did not want to go trick and treating we went to several other places including Wal-mart where Matthew got the web slinger for his Spiderman costume. Now, the whole house, the cats, and everything else are full of web “string.” At least it wore Matthew out completely as he is already in bed, sleeping.
