Mattie Louise Drake UTICA – Mattie Louise Drake, 85, died Monday, Oct. 7, 2013 at Spark’s Nursing Home in Central City. Born in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Haskins and Mattie Cook Haskins. She was a housewife and homemaker and was of the General Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Boyd Drake; a daughter, Pat Beaven; and her siblings. Survivors include three daughters, Betty (Sam) Beavin of Bloomington, Ind., Donna (Raleigh) Mortensen of Pennsylvania and Carol (Buzzy) Chamberlain of Utica; a son, Sam (Daisey) Drake of Greenville; 14 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Oct. 10 at Gary’s Funeral Home in Greenville with the Rev. T.H. Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Wilcox Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Oct. 10 at the funeral home.
