Maudie and I want to thank the thousands of supporters who came to the polls to continue our support of new jobs , better schools, and bringing millions of tax dollars back to help our district grow. Over the years we’ve worked very hard to create a better future for our children and the future generations to come. Maudie and I believe that God has a purpose for our lives and if it is time to turn the page and start a new chapter, then we are at peace with those plans. However, there is a process dictated by law that must play out before any of us know for sure who has won the race for Senate District 6. Because the margin is so very close, by law there will be a mandatory recount of the ballots. Additionally, there exists a substantial number of provisional ballots across the district that will be counted today. All this having been said, we will leave the outcome of the vote counting in the hands of the appropriate election officials.
