Mavericks 21 day course of antibiotics is up on the 22nd of November. So middle of next week neurosurgery will do another spinal tap on Maverick, since they cant go in through his spine in a Lumar puncture because his Spina Bifida opening is at Lumbar 4, they have to go in through his brain, into the ventricles to get a sample of his spinal fluid. If it tests negative, is clear and not yellow in color or cloudy Maverick is good to go home! If not they will keep him on antibiotics another week, repeat the tap & do this weekly until the spinal fluid shows no signs of inflammation. Fingers crossed we get to come home for thanksgiving...
