Max is home. He must have played hard and done a lot of tail wagging because he was very hungry when we got home. After eating, he pooped out on front of his food bowl. We have some answers and more questions.... Max has a large liver mass. At present, its not obstructing his gall bladder or causing pain. Whether its malignant/cancer is unknown. It could be....but it could also be benign. Either way, we will monitor it with periodic ultrasound. After racking poor Dr Shows brain, I feel that at Maxs age comfort is priority. Why cut this sweet boy open when we arent even sure that it is cancer. And if it is cancer and they do remove it, whos to say they got it all? Dr Shows reassured me that a 16th bday is not out of the question. The hardest part is just having to think about making some important decisions in the next couple of months. And accepting the eventual loss of Max is difficult. I had this unrealistic image of Max as this holy priest dog who would forever jump up and down to greet me, barking and spinning like a puppy. He and Brady are my rocks, but I will do my best to be his when our roles switch.
