Max update! Better news than I expected!! His amylase and lipase were off the charts and Dr Woodin diagnosed him with chronic pancreatitis. This was an idea Nancy Wilhelm, Connie Goedecke, and I had toyed with. But if course, we didnt know for sure until today. There was that nagging fear that it was something more serious like cancer or simply just shutting down from old age. He will stay on ultra low fat prescription dog food. He was on a relatively low fat oatmeal and fish blend that was 12% fat. Dr Woodin gave us food with only 4.5% fat. The hope is this will be easier on his GI system and bring his enzyme levels down. Here he is fainting in shock as Doctor Woodin tells him no more Fruitables and Nutro treats - even the skinny mini variety. He perked back up when she okd carrots, spinach and green beans. Thank you everyone for asking! Max says he has a sweet sixteen to attend next Spring picnic and doesnt plan on going anywhere soon!!
