May 14, 1459 - Robert Hungerford, 2nd Lord Hungerford died. He was about 54 years old. Second but first surviving son of Walter Hungerford, 1st Baron Hungerford, and Katherine Peverell, Robert Hungerford about 1423 proposed to go on a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. He served in the French wars and was in the retinue of the Duke of Bedford in 1435, and was summoned to Parliament from 5 September 1450 to 26 May 1455. Robert Hungerford married Margaret de Botreaux in Heytesbury, Wiltshire. Robert Hungerford, 2nd Lord Hungerford since 1449, died 18 May 1459, and was buried in Salisbury Cathedral. His daughter, Eleanor, married John White who is my Y-line, direct ancestor.
