May 29 - Walkin Your Talk Day Mt.15:7-9 Hypocrites! Isaiah prophesied beautifully about you, saying, This people comes near to Me with their mouth, and honors Me with their lips; but their heart is quite a ways away from Me. And they worship Me emptily, teaching mens commandments as doctrines. We looked at this quote two days ago in Mark. Today we look at the quote as it appears in Matthew. Talk is cheap, they say, and it is true. It is easy to say well do something so we look good in front of everybody, but the lonely hour when we must fulfill our promise is when we see what we are made of. It is easy to speak words of worship and pray prayers of faith on Sunday, but it is during the week when we see if our worship is genuine or not. It is the heat of the day and close quarters living that reveal the heart. When the going gets tough, do we find ourselves rationalizing our previous proclamations of faith? Is our worship as strong in the midst of our trials as it was in Church? Today is Walkin Your Talk Day. As the pressures of life begin to bring out what is really in your heart, dont be afraid to look inside. If what you find is not worship and honoring to God, Jesus is there to cleanse and help your unbelief and weakness as soon as you call on Him. The first step is to acknowledge the problem. His job is to correct it. Then, little by little, we find our talk and our walk starting to harmonize. They make a good duet!
