Maybe Im uninformed, but I still dont understand what the hype is all about for the Mets production of The Death of Klinghoffer. Why are people so upset about it honestly? Isnt the point of going to the opera to feel certain emotions that you otherwise may not experience. I mean no one complains about Madama Butterfly when she commits suicide and just knowingly abandons her son? Is it because people are afraid to experience something outside their own comfort zone? I honestly dont understand....its art. If you dont like it then go do something else. Dont protest against our freedom of speech. Ill admit that Ive never seen the show but if I did in fact find it a controversial subject then I just simply wouldnt see it again.
