Maybe it is the times we live in, but I think a black flag for New Zealand would look quite sinister (a bit too similar to the Islamic State flag?). I like the Southern Cross against a blue sky. If we have to get rid of the Union Jack, then just replace it with a silver fern in the top left hand corner (or another emblem of Aotearoa/New Zealand. There must be better options than Keys first choice.
