Maybe its just me, but I cant reconcile these two genres in my head: Cozy-Noir is the melding of two genres. Cozy, in the sense of a location or other setting which is of interest to the reader, most violence occurs off stage, there is a cast of secondary characters who the readers come to like, and the murder victim is rarely someone for whom anyone would weep. Noir, because desperate characters commit desperate acts and deadly consequences ensue.
