Mayor Bill de Blasio gave an unannounced speech at a Manhattan gala of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, the leading pro-Israel lobbying group, assuring its members that “part of my job description is to be a defender of Israel.” Israel has been an apartheid state since its birth. Jim Crow is alive and well in Palestine, where Palestinians must go through check points and endure stop and frisk on a daily basis. This then begs the question, will De Blasio protect the rights of Muslims and Arabs here in NYC? Or the rights of those who defend Palestine?
