Mayor King should not have come to this "Grand Opening." His presence only serves to validate all that many citizens view is wrong with housing projects such as this. And to insinuate the $10,000 provided is not tax money, after he himself mounted a brief (and somewhat tepid) offensive against the proposed PILOT agreement this company was going to pay, is absurd. This money barely scratches the surface of the tax money the facility should be paying. So, if course it should be considered tax money. In a very short time the city will spend more than this on police, fire, and infrastructural services to the complex.
