Mbala Farmers Storm DC’s Office There was confusion in Mbala District this morning when farmers that supplied maize to the Food Reserve Agency FRA and have not been paid stormed the office of the District Commissioner demanding their dues. And Mbala District Commissioner Best Kabulembe has pleaded with the farmers to remain calm as government is doing everything possible to ensure that they paid. The angry farmers who have vowed not to leave the office of the District Commissioner have complained of the non-payment of their K 73 million. “We have no means of paying fees for our children whose schools have already opened and to be honest we are running out of time in terms of buying the farming inputs” One of the Farmers said. The District Commissioner has assured the farmers that government will pay all the farmers this month and those in Mbala will start receiving their money by Wednesday. “Government has released about K 34 Million to pay all farmers in Mbala who sold their maize produce in august last year. I am appealing to the Food Reserve Agency to expedite the process and ensure that all the farmers are paid” The District Commissioner said. zambiareports/2015/01/12/mbala-farmers-storm-dcs-office/
