McCluskiegunj is a wonderful place. It is around 65 kilometers from Ranchi which is the capital of Jharkhand state. It is surrounded by hills and forests. There are numerous varieties of life here. plants, trees, birds, creatures, insects and animals (at some extent) that are not only rare but are also surprising to see. The climate and water is fabulous. It has history generated from time of the British rule. There are a bungalows that can be seen in dilapidated conditions which were owned by the Anglo Indians that were among the 350 - 400 families that made the place into mini London. Named after the founder Earnest Timothy McCluskie, this place has now changed drastically over time and will continue in future. Development of the place in in terms of finance commenced with the opening of a school named Don Bosco Academy. Gradually the place was declared a tourist centre a few years ago. McCluskiegunj is not only becoming famous as a tourist centre. It is also turning into an Educational Hub. There are quite a number of schools including Janet Academy and two Inter Colleges. Students flood the place as boarders. It is beautiful for picnics and weekends. People having love for nature will fall in love with the place because it is so beautiful.
