McDowell County 911 & Office of Emergency Services ****************IMPORTANT INFO******************* The McDowell County 911/OES has been advised by Frontier, that as of 11:00 pm tonight (Tuesday, August 13th), the phone system will go into site trunking. This means that Frontier customers will only be able to make calls within their exchange (ex. 436 numbers can only call 436 numbers). Due to this, when you dial 911, your call will be routed to the Fire Department or Police Department with jurisdiction of your residence. There will be people staged at the different departments to take your call and relay the information to the McDowell County 911, who will dispatch the appropriate resources needed.
