McLaren Oakland trauma services, in partnership with UnitedHealthcare Community Plan, conducted the Safe Wheels and Heels event at a local elementary school in Pontiac this morning. The kids learned about stranger danger, when and how to call 9-1-1, and why its important to always wear a helmet when riding their bikes. They are also properly fitted for a brand new bike helmet. Over the next two weeks, this program will be presented to all second graders at five Pontiac elementary schools and four Oxford schools.
