Meaghamann Movie Review by Common Man: Meaghamann means ‘Captain of the Ship’. Despite the two leading actors Arya & Hansika, Director Magizh Thirumeni seems to be the USP for this movie. His last movie ‘Thadaiyara Thaakka” was well received among ‘A’ Center audience, as the making was absolutely brilliant. Trailer looked very stylish & created good expectations for this movie. Let us see whether this movie will satisfy the Common Man in this review. Story – It is about the life of Undercover Cop Arya. Story is quite similar to Kuruthipunal. Arya – He looks strong & has done extremely well in action scenes. Hansika – She hardly appears for 15-20 minutes in the movie. Her role doesn’t impact the story of the movie. Her scenes are the only commercial compromise, which has been forced into the movie. There is introduction of new characters in almost each & every scene in the first half. Out of which, Ramana & Ashutosh Rana stands out. Cinematographer S.R. Sathish Kumar has captured Goa & the stunt scenes superbly. Music Director Thaman – There are just 2 songs in the movie – an Item song & Romantic song. BGM by Thaman adds much needed hype to the action scenes. Editor Srikanth – Movie looks stylish & he has experimented a lot with various scenes, which has come out really well. Director Magizh Thirumeni –He has to be appreciated a lot for taking a stylish action oriented movie, without any compromises (other than Hansika’s scenes). There are no forced comedy scenes or any unnecessary characters, which are not needed for the movie. Interval block will be a new experience to Tamil Audience & justifies ‘U / A’ Certification. Second half becomes too predictable, as all the characters are introduced & established in the first half itself. Climax looked ordinary, after huge buildup in the first half. Overall, Meaghamann is a stylish gangster movie, without any commercial compromises. Rating of this movie by Common Man – 2.5 / 5 Rating of this movie for people who liked Kuruthipunal, Thadaiyara Thaakka & loves complete action oriented movies without any compromises – 3.25 / 5 Meaghamann Movie Review by Common Man: Meaghamann means ‘Captain of the Ship’.
