Meckauer Park Parking Passes ... Im reporting back as promised with answers re protocol. 1. PLEASE direct all questions/concerns to town officials. No one sits on FB 24/7 to catch all the comments that come through. Matthew Knickerbocker assures me that he welcomes direct phone calls or emails. My personal experience is that he responds very efficiently, courteously and respectfully. 2. The Park & Rec commission has full authority to require passes to use a park. They adopted this first step of the program in a fully open, legal meeting. 3. The P&R commission *cannot* issue a charge for non residents w/o BOS approval, and they have not even gotten that far in the process. There will be a presentation and review by the chair of the P&R commission to the BOS at the next BOS meeting on May 20th. 4. In the meantime, they are taking names of non-residents who are interested in a pass and will contact them later. Please remember, I am the messenger. Yes, I know what happens to messengers.
