Medford Police had to break up a 50+ person riot at an Mixed Martial Arts event last night. Towards the end of the event, a fight started in the stands involving 15-20 people. Officers arrested one person from this fight but the fight spilled out into the parking lot. As other units responded the fight grew to nearly 50 people. The crowd was so large and unruly that every available MPD unit responded along with available JCSO, OSP, CPPD and Phoenix PD units. After the riot subsided, officers cleared out the parking lot of the remaining people. During this riot, multiple security guards from CYA security were assaulted. The listed people were lodged for Riot due to their participation in the event. Also, Jacob and Matthew Miller were lodged for Assault 3 for an assault on a security guard. SUSPECT: Bowling, John Robert, 31 SUSPECT: Bowling, Daniel Lee, 29 SUSPECT: 17 year old female SUSPECT: Ricci, Christina, 21 SUSPECT: Mendez, Derek Scott, 24 SUSPECT: Miller, Matthew Chalon, 51 SUSPECT: Miller, Jacob Patrick, 24 In other news, we responded to the Whiskey Room for the report of a subject fighting with security. Upon our arrival, the suspect was actively trying to assault security staff and our officers had to use his taser to get him under control. Willie Williams, 28, was lodged in jail. We are also investigating an assault involving a knife but we do have someone in custody. That investigation is currently under way and the victim was treated and released for his injuries.
