Media registration opens for APEC Informal Senior Officials’ Meeting (ISOM) November 26, 2014 – Media registration is now open for the APEC Informal Senior Officials’ Meeting (ISOM), to be hosted in Legazpi City, Albay, Philippines, from December 8-9, 2014. Background: The APEC ISOM will mark the inaugural gathering of member economies in conjunction with the Philippines’ role as APEC Chair in 2015—the first time the archipelago, a founding APEC economy, will chair in 19 years. The APEC economies form an integral network of members committed to supporting sustainable economic growth and accelerating regional development. As such, the Philippines seeks to facilitate realistic dialogue toward a more inclusive economic environment in the Asia-Pacific region. Emphasis will be made on the following priorities: investing in human capital development; fostering SMEs’ participation in regional and global economy; building sustainable and resilient communities; and enhancing the regional economic integration agenda. During ISOM, leaders will discuss specific topics within these priorities, with the twin aims of strengthening individual economies and promoting regional collaboration. Niño Village Legazpi City, Albay 4500 Philippines Deadline for online media registration: December 2, 2014 Registration procedure: All media representatives wishing to cover APEC ISOM should register online at reg.apec2015.ph/media. The information provided should be accurate and complete. Please note that accreditation is subject to further clearance. ID badges will be issued to accredited media representatives, and must be worn to be allowed access to media facilities, services, and specified events. Passport and visa requirements: All foreign / visiting journalists are required to possess a valid passport with a temporary visitor’s visa. Upon receiving registration confirmation online, representatives can apply for a temporary visitor’s visa at their economy’s respective Philippine Embassy. The following must be submitted upon application of a temporary visitor’s visa: A. Passport B. APEC Accreditation Confirmation Letter C.
