Meditation Don’t Waste Your Days October 29, 2014 We live one day at a time, and each of those days should be precious to us. Time seems to move faster and faster as we try to keep up with the demands of living in turbulent and uncertain times. There are things that we want to accomplish, places we want to go, and people we want to spend time with. We begin the week or the month with every intention of doing all that we have planned, but by the end of the month, only a fraction of those things have been accomplished. We believe there are not enough hours in a day! We are not given an opportunity to re-do any days, so we must make each day count. It is important to set priorities. Make a list of what you want to accomplish for the week, and stay focused on completing those tasks. Evaluate your list each night and mark the things that have been accomplished. Watch out for the people and situations that waste your valuable time. They have agendas and disrupting your life is their priority. They want to pull you away from the plans that you have set for your life. They want to destroy your peace and keep you off balance every day. As you set your priorities, remember you are the most important priority. You must take time for yourself each week. You need time to clear your mind, get more rest and renew your enthusiasm. You cannot continue to drain your spiritual and emotional resources. You need time to spend in communion with God to discern His will for your life. During your prayer and communion time, God will direct your paths. He will bring balance to your life. He has the final authority over your days. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge God, and he will make your paths straight.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) “O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you and praise your name, for in perfect faithfulness you have done marvelous things, things planned long ago.” (Isaiah 25:1) “Yes, from ancient days, I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?” (Isaiah 43:13) “I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free.” (Psalm 119:32) Don’t waste your days on people who only want to see you fail. Don’t waste your time on things and situations that drain your spirit. Put all of your faith and trust in God. He is the Power, forever! Abundant Blessings, Louise Manigault.
