Meet Ben, a gorgeous 10 month old Jack Russell Terrier. Ben was involved in a road traffic accident which resulted in a complicated fracture of the femur, unfortunately it would be costly to repair which was not viable due to financial reasons. This left the option of amputation of the leg, rehome Ben or euthanase him, this was an upsetting time for the owner and us! There was a definite answer though, the owner could not be without him, so we went ahead and amputated Bens leg on Monday. Bens doting owner has received help towards the cost of his operation from The Dogs Trust and the RSPCA Lincs East branch, we have discounted the surgery to also help Ben and his owner. We would like to say a huge thank you to these charities for their help. Ben came in today for his post op check and is doing great! He is walking brilliantly on 3 legs, and the wound is healing really well. He is such a lively, happy little dog, we are pleased he is doing so well :)
