Meet CJ Young, a junior and 3rd year team member from Rantoul, Illinois. Favorite stunt: Diamond Heads Favorite memory: Getting to fly out to Seattle and cheer a football game there. What made you want to be a member of the Illinois cheerleading team? I like lifting girls (ha-ha) but seriously I like being a part of a team and staying in shape. I will always be grateful for the opportunities I have been given by being a part of the cheer team. And the friendships I have made because of this team will never be forgotten. How did you get involved in cheerleading? One of the girls on the team was a friend of mine since kindergarten and she could never convince me in high school because I was always playing football or another sport, but when I came to college and saw the stunts they were doing, I said I want to be able to do that and get that big. Favorite thing about Illinois: The friends I have made and the fact that it is such a prestigious university and I am fortunate enough to go here. Weird Fact: I can eat 40 chicken nuggets in one sitting.
